The Real Britt Fit: Motivation
When it comes to getting in shape and staying healthy, motivation is key. But what exactly is motivation? According to Merriam-Webster, motivation is ufffdthe act or process of motivatingufffd or ufffdthe state or condition of being motivated.ufffd In other words, itufffds what drives us to do something.
There are two types of motivation: extrinsic and intrinsic. Extrinsic motivators are external factors that drive us to do something, such as a reward or punishment. Intrinsic motivators, on the other hand, come from within ourselves. Theyufffdre things like a desire to improve our skills or simply the satisfaction of completing a task.
Both extrinsic and intrinsic motivators can be helpful in achieving our goals, but research has shown that intrinsic motivators are more effective in promoting long-term success. Thatufffds because they donufffdt rely on external factors that can be taken away (like a raise or bonus), but rather internal factors that we have control over (like our attitude or work ethic).
So how can we increase our intrinsic motivation? One way is by setting specific, challenging goals that we feel confident we can achieve. Accomplishing these goals will give us a sense of accomplishment and help us develop a growth mindsetufffdthe belief that our abilities can be developed through hard work and dedication.
Another way to increase our intrinsic motivation is by focusing on the process rather than the outcome. In other words, instead of fixating on the end result (losing X amount of weight, running X number of miles), we should focus on enjoying the journey and taking pride in our progress along the way. This doesnufffdt mean we shouldnufffdt have goals; it just means we should enjoy the process of reaching them as much as possible.
No matter what your fitness goals may be, remember that motivation is key to achieving them. And with a little effort, you can find ways to increase your intrinsic motivation and set yourself up for success!
The Real Britt Fit: Progress
I’ve been on my fitness journey for a while now, and I’m happy to report that I’m making progress! Every day, I make small changes to my diet and exercise routine that add up to big results. Here’s a look at my progress so far:
I’ve lost 10 pounds since starting my fitness journey. This may not seem like much, but it’s a huge accomplishment for me. Losing weight has always been a challenge for me, so I’m thrilled to see the numbers on the scale going down.
I’ve also gained muscle mass and definition. My arms and legs are looking more toned, and my abs are starting to show (finally!). All of this hard work is paying off, and I’m feeling stronger than ever before.
My energy levels have increased dramatically since making healthier lifestyle choices. I used to feel exhausted all the time, but now I have plenty of energy to power through my workouts and tackle my busy days.
Overall, I’m feeling great about my progress so far. Every day, I’m getting one step closer to reaching my ultimate health and fitness goals.

Q: What are your favorite types of workouts?
A: I love all types of workouts, but my favorites are definitely strength training and HIIT (high-intensity interval training). I also love yoga and Pilates for recovery and flexibility.
Q: What is your diet like?
A: I eat a mostly plant-based diet with some lean protein sources like chicken, fish, eggs, and tofu. I try to eat as many whole foods as possible and limit processed foods. I believe in moderation when it comes to food – everything in moderation!
Q: What are your thoughts on cheat meals/days?
A: Cheat meals or days can be helpful if you’re trying to break through a weight loss plateau. However, they should not be used as an excuse to overeat or indulge in unhealthy foods regularly. If you do have a cheat meal or day, make sure to get back on track with healthy eating afterwards.
